Theo Ruth sofa in red for Artifort, (model 115), The Netherlands. The back tilts slightly backward and has the recognisable natural flow and comfort of Ruth’s design. This love seat or two seater has a great seating comfort. Item is marked with an Artifort label. In good condition, foam and fabric intact with good comfort. Fabric has some fading in the front of the seating. Item can be used as it is, we would advise reupholstery in the future, to match the iconic design and character of the chair.

Theo Ruth (1915-) can be considered as the Pioneer of the designs by Artifort. In 1936 he joined the company, first as cabinetmaker, later in 1939 as head of the design and development department. The Congo chair is his best known design and was great sales success for Artifort.

DUTCH / NEDERLANDS: Elegante sofa, twee zitter, van Theo Ruth voor Artifort jaren ’50. De sofa heeft een nette rode bekleding, aan de voorzijde is de bekleding licht verbleekt door de zon. Niet heel afleidend. Merk Artifort is aanwezig. De bank zit nog zeer comfortabel.
