Pierre Paulin Anneau chair 1955 AP Polak
Pierre Paulin Anneau chair 1955 AP Polak
Sculptural Mid-Century Modern Pierre Paulin Anneau chair designed in 1955 and executed by Dutch manufacturer AP Polak. This model is also know as the Anneau chair or AP 14. The well constructed, almost architectonical, metal frame holds the original canvas sling, which results in a comfortable seating. The tan colored leather slab is an elegant detail, which was added later. All in good condition, the canvas has traces of use as shown on photos.
Paulin experimented with pressed bent wooden shells, metal frames and canvas slings, large foam interiors and elastic upholsteries, to create his sculptural vision on furniture. Furniture that, because of his modern views, still feels contemporary in any home.
