An elegant and refined piece of Scandinavian Modern design, robust yet elegant, a rectangular Johannes Andersen slatt sofa with an eye catching (solid rosewood) slat back and a great quality brown furniture fabric (Korinthe by De Ploeg). The fabric is intact, and cleaned and the comfort is quite good. The rosewood seating is in very good condition.

Johannes Andersen (Danish, 1903–1995) apprenticed as a cabinet maker, becoming certified in 1922. By the mid-1930s, when Danish modern design rose in popularity beyond Denmark, he opened his own workshop. He continued to work with other design houses as well, including CFC Silkeborg in Denmark and Trensum in Sweden.

DUTCH / NEDERLANDS: Set Elegante en ambachtelijk vervaardigde palissander sofa in bruin-rode meubelstof (Korinthe van de Ploeg), ontworpen door Johannes Andersen in de jaren’ 60 voor CFC Sillkeborg Denemarken. Comfortabel en grote 3-zits sofa. Het item is door de vorige eigenaar hergestoffeerd. De bank is professionele schoongemaakt, de stof is netjes en intact en heeft een fijn zitcomfort. Het massieve palissander frame is geschuurd en opnieuw in de Deense was gezet. Het item is in zeer goede conditie.
