Geoffrey Harcourt F161 leather chair

Geoffrey Harcourt F161 leather chair, 1972

A vintage 1972 Geoffrey Harcourt Executive office chair (model 161), executed in a light brown leather upholstery, with tilting mechanisme and swivel foot (on wheels). Produced by Artifort. The tilting mechanisme can be adjusted (from heavy to light), the seat height is adjustable in 3 variations (46/48 or 50 cm seat height). On the back of the seating, as shown on photos, there are some small damages visible.

Geoffrey Harcourt designed in 1969 a series of office and executive furniture for Artifort, called ‘the Hartcourt series’. This program had 40 different models all based on 2 (high pressured) moulded  shells (seatings), that where placed on different feet and with different (upholstered) armrests options. The listed item is the most luxurious variant of this series. With these options and efficient manufacturing process, Artifort acquired a larger share of the office market in that decennia.
