Art Deco chair in cherrywood

Art Deco chair in cherrywood, 1934

Elegant Dutch Art Deco armchair in elm and re-upholstered in a new black and white furniture fabric (Accent by De Ploeg). Completely restored with new springs in the seating, origin 1934 by label in springs. The cherrywood frame and armrest are beautifully curved and hand made in the typical manner of the Functionalist ‘Hague school’. The curvy seating with the piping follow the flow of the design perfectly.

Designer unknown, but the piece was clearly inspired on the functionalist and clear lines of Cor Alons, Hendrik Wouda and Frits Spanjaard.
