Amsterdam Art Deco armchair, 1930s

Solid wooden Amsterdam Art Deco armchair from the 1930s, Netherlands. Re-upholstered in a green and blue mix of Kvadrat – Remix melange, beautiful quality fabric. The massive oak wooden frame has a patinated look, with a beautiful dark grain. Nice detailing of the legs with a double toe tip on the back, preventing the chair from ever tipping over. The chair was made during the Art Deco period with strong influencers such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Josef Hoffmann and Hendrik Berlage, Yet, the pragmatic Dutch origin of the Amsterdam school is reflected in the strong and angular lines of the design.

DUTCH / NEDERLANDS: Fraai art deco fauteuil nieuw gestoffeerd in een mooie groen melange van Kvadrat (Remix). Het massief eiken houten frame is in zeer goede conditie. Mooie detaillering bij de voeten. Afkomstig uit de jaren ’30, in geproduceerd in de art deco periode met ontwerpers als Mackintosh, Hoffmann en Berlage. De fauteuil vertoont duidelijk de trekken van de Amsterdamse school, ontwerper onbekend.
